Join Us for a Conversation on
Secular Activism and the Sacred

You’re invited!

Dear Friends on the Path,

You are invited to join One Earth Sangha on February 28 from 12:30 to 2:00 pm US Eastern Time for an online webinar featuring our own Lou Leonard, head of the World Wildlife Fund’s climate program, and Zen teacher Kritee (Kanko), who is also a senior climate scientist at Environmental Defense Fund. We’ll consider what it means to be advocating for science and policy in secular civil society while walking the Buddhist wisdom path. We will explore how these two dimensions of daily life can inspire and ground one another.

Secular Activism and the Sacred: a Common Ground
Kritee is a Zen teacher (Sensei), activist, and scientist with the Environmental Defense Fund. Kritee works with EDF’s global climate team to link small scale farmers with markets in ways that promote climate mitigation, support development in rural economies, accelerate poverty alleviation, and strengthen adaptation to the effects of climate change. Kritee provides scientific advice to EDF’s legal teams on mercury pollution. See Kritee’s professional bio at Environmental Defense Fund.

Kritee also co-directs Boundless in Motion, an environmentally and socially engaged Rinzai Zen meditation community in Boulder, Colorado, and is co-founder of Eco-Dharma Sangha, a group of meditation practitioners of different traditions who are seeking ways to bring the fruits of practice to climate and other ecological challenges.
