Going through and beyond the 12 Steps to experience full recovery from addiction.
My name is Shaun and I practice recovery. That’s how I say it now, after 25 years of active recovery that includes the 12 Steps, asana yoga, meditation, mindfulness, tai chi, and practicing the dharma teachings of Buddhism. Sanity is the measure of success in sobriety, and I have been restored to sanity. Through my practice of Buddhism, I learned how to put the principles of Buddhism and the skills of mindful meditation into practice in my daily life. Applying this to recovery, I now say that I practice recovery on a daily basis.
